‘A child’s dream’, say Virgin Media viewers as Wexford family get ‘colourful’ home transformation on The Salvage Squad

VIRGIN Media viewers have all been left gushing over an impressive kids’ playroom transformation on The Salvage Squad

Popular presenter Brian Dowling‘s hit home renovation show returned for another entertaining episode tonight.

The Conroy family were left speechless on the Salvage Squad tonight
The team turned a cluttered playroom into a magical kid friendly space
The playroom had a circus theme, with a stage, storage and beanbags

The show premiered in 2023 and saw Brian and his team of sustainable interior designers, on a mission to transform some of Ireland’s tired, old rooms into trendy spaces fit for modern living.

With just three days to complete the makeover and a budget of €1,000, both designers with their team of tradespeople, work tirelessly to give the homeowners wonderful makeovers.

In tonight’s episode, the team headed to the sunny south east in Co Wexford to the Conroy Family.

Couple Karen and Martin had called on the Salvage Squad to revamp their kids’ playroom.

School teacher Karen told the team that she needed “professional help” as the space just “wasn’t working” for her three little girls, Eabha, Beibhinn and Ella.

She added: “It’s always annoyed me because I haven’t had the time to do it. It will really help out household run smoothly.”

Karen’s wish for the revamp was a “playful, colourful” place for her three little girls to grow up.

Over the three days, the team completely redecorated the family’s living space, adding an incredible circus-themed ceiling with blue and pink stripes.

Peter also turned an old 1960’s rocking horse into a statement light display.

The designer also bought a second-hand green velvet sofa and reupholstered it into a gorgeous sitting area with DIY cushions.

The main attraction, however, was the stage, which Pete had created from an old dining table and a wooden drawer – which cost €12 altogether.

The mesmerizing stage even had old Hollywood lightbulbs fitted all around it.

After all the work was completed, Karen, Martin and their girls all came back into their home to see the transformation and it’s safe to say they were blown away.

Eabha exclaimed: “Wow, I love it!”

‘EXCELLENT’

A speechless Karen finally remarked: “Oh my God, this can’t be our playroom.”

While Martin gushed: “It’s overwhelming, it’s hard to take it all in.”

Virgin Media viewers were also left swooning over the brilliant renovation.

Jack wrote on Instagram: “Excellent work guys!”

Helen said: “This is class.”

While Winnie added: “A child’s dream #salvagesquad.”

And Barbara gushed: “Such a fun room!”
