As Flutterwave gears towards an imminent IPO, it aims to cast off its startup image and establish itself as a dominant player in the global financial technology market. A key part of this transformation is solidifying its brand identity, forging strategic partnerships with stakeholders and financial regulators, and nurturing internal collaboration to ensure long-term growth.
To achieve these goals, Flutterwave partnered with Spacefinish to design its new headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria.
Spacefinish is a leading global workspace strategy company that specialises in the design and build of commercial office spaces. Dedicated to driving business growth and innovation, Spacefinish approaches its projects with a human-centered focus. In other words, they consider the impact of their designs on the performance of the individuals who inhabit the space. They also track this impact through quantitative and qualitative research, using these insights to optimise for the future of work. The company has partnered with business giants such as Google, Meta, X (formerly Twitter), PwC, Union Bank, Kingmakers, and Mastercard.
For this collaboration with Flutterwave, Spacefinish was tasked with creating a headquarters that inspires strategic decision-making while prioritising comfort and practicality.
Spacefinish began by positioning Flutterwave’s headquarters in the Kings Tower building in Ikoyi, Lagos. This Grade A building houses other industry giants like Microsoft and Meta (also designed by Spacefinish).
The next step for this project was team allocation. A deliberate relocation of Flutterwave’s executive and strategic teams only to the new office was done to kindle synergy, drive innovation, and enhance the decision-making processes pivotal for sustainable growth. The final stage was deploying technology to improve productivity. Spacefinish equipped Flutterwave with the necessary technological tools to ensure its operations were amplified for maximum efficiency and productivity.
The result of these efforts is a futuristic and eclectic space called “Flutter Portal”. This headquarters features different work zones tailored to different work styles. From collaborative areas to quiet rooms, all areas collectively contribute to a more dynamic and vibrant work environment. Reports claim that this new headquarters has enhanced collaboration between cross-functional teams by 30% and has led to a 50% upsurge in high-value partnerships for Flutterwave.
The new Flutterwave headquarters is not just another workspace design. It is a strategic asset designed to foster growth, reimagine partnerships, and promote shared learning. By leveraging Spacefinish‘s expertise, Flutterwave has positioned itself for continued success, demonstrating the powerful impact of thoughtful, human-centered design on business outcomes.
